Actor Dave Annable and nursing major Kinnon Bliss will be among those who take the stage at Plattsburgh State’s commencement ceremonies on Saturday.

Two ceremonies at the Plattsburgh State Field House will honor the approximately 900 students eligible to graduate from the college this spring and summer.

The first ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. and will pay tribute to students graduating with degrees in education, health, human services and business.

The second will take place at 2 p.m. and honor students earning degrees in the arts and sciences.

Bliss, who is from Lake Placid, is graduating summa cum laude and will serve as the student speaker. In her speech, she will ask the questions “Who are you becoming?” and “Are you making the most of yourself?”

Annable, formerly of Walden, will receive the Plattsburgh Alumni Association’s Off to a Good Start Award, which honors individuals who are excelling in a career, who demonstrate a sense of responsibility within the community and who continue to have a relationship with Plattsburgh State.

He is on the cast of ABC’s hit series “Brothers & Sisters,” where he acts with Sally Field, Calista Flockhart, Rob Lowe and others. Despite his success in Hollywood, he has come back to Plattsburgh State to finish his degree in communication.

Also on stage will be Roderic Giltz and Dr. Celine Paquette, both of whom will receive the Distinguished Service Award.
